Well supplied all around

We offer our residents and relatives a wide range of services, support and assistance in everyday life. We have listed the most important points and answers as well as information on the subject of care alphabetically below:

We cooperate with the Nicolai pharmacy in Attendorn in the supply of medicines. This ensures a quick supply of medication. The employees of the pharmacy are also the contact persons for all technical questions.

We work together with established physicians and specialists. Of course, the free choice of doctor remains unaffected.

Visitors are welcome at Franziskaner-Hof. There are no fixed visiting hours. The administration is available from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:30.

Our in-house cafeteria is the central meeting place in our Franziskaner-Hof. It is accessible at all times and invites you to linger in comfort. Many of our leisure activities take place in the cafeteria. The ambience and the space offer the possibility for many different offers and events.

Before moving into an inpatient care facility, there are many things for relatives and future residents to consider and arrange. We have therefore compiled a CHECKLIST to provide you with assistance and orientation. If you would like further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our EMPLOYEES personally.

Quality in nursing is also based on compliance with so-called expert standards. These quality instruments are developed by recognized experts and reflect the current state of knowledge in the profession. It goes without saying that our hospital also works in accordance with these expert standards. You can find out more about the individual expert standards by clicking on the individual sub-items:

If you are interested in further information, please contact the nursing service management, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We celebrate the festivals as they fall! Parties and celebrations are an important part of every day's life. Our social services team regularly organizes parties, celebrations, excursions and cultural events. In doing so, our employees always take into account the wishes and needs of our residents. We base our activities on the seasons in order to bring them to life. Here you will find our current SCHEDULE CALENDAR.

In our house there is a permanent hairdresser. Individual appointments can be arranged. Our hairdresser Claudia Luetticke is also happy to come to the room. We support our residents in making appointments.

Well-groomed and healthy feet contribute to well-being. Therefore, we cooperate with both a foot care and a podiatry practice. We help with making appointments. The services can be used comfortably in your own room without our residents having to leave the house.

Our residents receive professional help at all times. Our work is characterized by the orientation towards the Christian image of man. In our GFO Center Living & Care Franziskaner-Hof people of all denominations, world views and nationalities find a new home. We care for people in need of care in all degrees of care according to the current state of scientific knowledge.

In order to make it as easy as possible for the new resident to settle in, our social services department provides close support during the settling-in phase.

How we work is described in detail in our HOUSE CONCEPT.

You would like to register yourself, a relative or a person close to you for admission to our GFO Center Living & Care. Then please use our corresponding FORM. We will then contact you as soon as possible.

You have chosen our GFO Center and inpatient care. We are pleased about that. You are in good hands with us. For admission to our GFO Wohnen & Pflege we conclude a so-called HEIMVERTRAG with the resident, in which all details are regulated.

We receive support from the hospice service in the care of the seriously ill and dying as well as in mourning.

Our GFO Center Attendorn, Wohnen & Pflege Franziskaner-Hof attaches great importance to climate protection. Within the scope of our possibilities, we constantly examine the use of sustainable products and technology.

Our vehicle fleet consists (with a growing share) of numerous hybrid and electric vehicles.

The energy supply of the GFO Center Attendorn, Wohnen & Pflege Franziskaner-Hof is ensured by a combined heat and power plant. The cogeneration of heat and power offers a significantly better utilization of energy than can be achieved with conventional heating systems.

Our food purchases in the areas of bakery products, meat products, fruit and vegetables are made from regional suppliers in order to avoid long transport routes. We are constantly testing and promoting the use of organic foods.

In the case of acute illnesses, our residents benefit from the close contacts in the GFO network, which includes numerous hospitals. The proximity to the GFO hospital ensures short distances and a quick admission in case of need. Of course, there is a free choice of hospital.

Meals at the GFO Center Attendorn are tailored to the needs of the residents. A changing menu as well as the possibility of choosing different dishes provides for variety. Of course, dietetic food is taken into account.

All dishes are prepared from high-quality and fresh ingredients according to the latest nutritional science findings. The particularly gentle processing of food, in conjunction with optimal cooking times, guarantees a range of meals rich in vitamins and nutrients.

The housekeeping staff prepares the meals and accompanies the residents in the kitchens of the living areas.

There are various meal times to choose from, so that residents can also select the time that suits them best.

Lunch is provided by our partner, the GFO Center Drolshagen.

A person is considered to be in need of care if he or she is no longer able to look after him or herself independently due to age, illness or disability. In Germany, a wide variety of assistance systems are then in place. As a rule, people in need of care and their relatives are then also entitled to graduated financial support. To this end, the legislator has installed a system of care guarantees.

Since the reform of the classification and assessment of care needs in 2017, five care grades now apply (they have replaced the previous three care grades). Care grade 1 denotes the lowest level with the least need for support, while care grade 5 denotes the maximum level of assistance required for people in need of care. The five care levels are used as a basis for the financial benefits provided by payers, in particular the long-term care insurance fund.

Classification into care grades is based on six criteria, known as modules:

Module 1 "Mobility": the assessor looks at physical mobility. For example, can the person get up on his or her own and walk from the bed to the bathroom? Can he or she move around independently within his or her own four walls, is climbing stairs possible?

Module 2 "Mental and communicative abilities: This area covers understanding and talking. For example: Can the person concerned orient himself in time and space? Does he or she understand facts, recognize risks and can he or she hold conversations with other people?

Module 3 "Behavioral and psychological problems": This includes restlessness at night or fears and aggression, which are stressful for the person in need of care, but also for their relatives. This is also taken into account if there are defensive reactions to nursing measures.

Module 4 "Self-care": For example, can the applicant wash and dress him/herself, can he/she go to the toilet independently and eat and drink?

Module 5 "Dealing independently with requirements and stresses caused by illness or therapy - and coping with them": The assessor looks at whether the person concerned can, for example, take medication him/herself, measure blood sugar independently, use aids such as prostheses or a walker, and see a doctor.

Module 6 "Shaping everyday life and social contacts": For example, can the person concerned organize his or her daily routine independently? Can he or she come into direct contact with other people or go to the skat club without help?

The price for a place in a nursing home is made up of several components. This is stipulated by law. These include the care itself, costs of room and board, and investment costs. The monthly costs are made up of these components and vary depending on the region and the home.

If residents are unable to cover the costs from their own resources, they can apply for "assistance with care" (according to § 61 SGB XII). In principle, every person in need of care is entitled to this assistance.

We have compiled the monthly prices for STATIONARY CARE and SHORT-TERM CARE for you.

We understand our house as a place of encounter. Regular church services and impulses play an important role in everyday life and at special events.

Spiritual life is an essential and integral part of our holistic offer. Upon request, we offer pastoral care. The Ursuline nuns living in the facility and a house chaplain contribute to this.

The chapel of St. Francis is a centerpiece of the facility. Immobile residents can celebrate the services in the chapel on their own television set via a home channel. Communion in the residents' own rooms is also possible upon request.

Our social service is a specialized service for consultation, mediation, networking and coordination.

The team has the task of promoting the quality of life of our residents in close consultation with all areas of our home. In order to achieve this, a variety of group and individual activities are carried out. In addition to recurring offers, the team is always oriented to the seasons as well as the church year and local traditions.
